Celebrity Hair: Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff’s stylish ponytail looked so classy and chic at the “1408″ premiere! I love how she teased the top and wrapped a piece of hair around the elastic to make a simple ponytail more formal. This is a great way to glam up for a night event or wear to a party! Here’s how you can get this look:
1. Brush all hair back and pull it into a regular, high ponytail. Do not tie it yet. Make sure all loose pieces are pulled back.
2. While holding your hair in a ponytail, neatly separate a piece of your hair from either the right or left side of your ponytail (this should be one of the longest pieces). This is the piece that you will use to wrap around the hair elastic. Make sure the piece is not too close to the top of your head, because you will be teasing it. Leave this piece to the side for now, and make sure the rest of your hair is pulled into a neat ponytail.
3. Wrap a hair elastic around ponytail a few times, depending on how thick your hair is (2 times for thick hair, 3 for medium hair, 4 for thin hair). Do not make it too tight–make sure you feel comfortable.
4. Take the side piece that you left out, and wrap it around the elastic. Secure piece with a couple of bobby pins.
5. To tease hair: Starting at the right side, between your roots and where the ponytail starts, run the tail end of a tail comb through the top layer of your hair, ending at the left side. Slowly move comb back towards just before where the elastic is, and slightly pull hair out of elastic. Do not tease too much–do it so it still looks neat.
6. Finally, spray entire head with a volumizing and holding hair spray, and your look is complete!
